About M-Ployment
For years, people have asked, “Do you have any day laborers that can work for us?”
While Mission Waco's emphasis
has been and continues to be on empowering under-employed folks toward permanent, full time jobs through
the M-Powerment Program, Mission Waco recognizes the benefit to both worker and employer to have a
“day laborer with purpose.” Like all Mission Waco work programs, the potential employee must attend
pre-employment
work maturity training, be ‘clean and sober,’ and understand our ethical expectations. Thus M-Ployment was created.
M-Ployment is a ministry of Mission Waco that was created to fulfill two purposes. The first purpose is
to transition day laborers into people ready for full-time, permanent employment. We strive to reach
this first goal by offering job and life skills training that will make them more competitive in the
marketplace. The second purpose is to pay these laborers a fairer wage for the work they perform while
having competitive prices in the day labor sector.
